Presentation and Interviews World Ocean Review 4
- On Tuesday, 10. November 2015, the forth “World Ocean Review” (WOR 4) was presented to the public with the motto, “Sustainable Use of Our Oceans – Making Ideas Work.”
In Schleswig-Holstein representation facilities in Berlin, Dr. Robert Habeck, Minister of the Environment of Schleswig-Holstein and Nikolaus Gelpke, project initiator and mareverlag publisher welcomed the numerous guests.
Afterwards several Interviewees answered questions on the subject:
- Prof. Dr. Klaus Töpfer, former executive director of the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) in Potsdam,
- Prof. Dr. Konrad Ott, professor for Philosophy and Ethics of the Environment at Kiel University,
- Gesine Meißner, MEP and chair of the intergroup „ Seas, Rivers, Islands and Coastal Areas“,
- Prof. Dr. Antje Boetius, marine biologist at Alfred Wegener Institute in the Helmholtz Association (AWI) and MARUM, Center for Marine Environmental Sciences at Bremen University,
- Prof. Dr. Martin Visbeck, spokesperson of the Kiel Cluster of Excellence „The Future Ocean" and oceanographer at the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research in Kiel.
